If your business is an LLC, you may elect to be treated as an "S-Corp" or S Corporation by the IRS. Shareholders of S corporations report the flow-through of income and losses on their personal tax returns and are assessed tax at their individual income tax rates. This allows S corporations to avoid double taxation on the corporate income. This filing must be made 3.5 months after formation or before March 15th each year.
